1. Project New Leaf, after years of planning, formally began in November 2016. That’s when we started the massive renovation and update of the First Division Museum. The project is currently in Phase One and will last about five years. It primarily involves the park side of the Cantigny estate.
  2. This is the biggest change for gardens and grounds since the park opened in 1958. We’re creating better sight lines to expose more of Cantigny’s beauty and unify its elements. New garden areas are being created.
  3. Other improvements: drainage, pathways, parking lots, signage, lighting, playground, visitor safety and additional bathrooms.
  4. The park will remain open throughout project and most events will take place as scheduled.
  5. First Division Museum renovations, including the Tank Park, have been completed. The Grand Reopening on Aug. 26, 2017, marked a key early milestone in Project New Leaf.
  6. McCormick House changes are still in the planning phase.
  7. The project is funded by the Robert R. McCormick Foundation. We have no plans to raise parking fees at this time. Cantigny Membership rates are reduced for 2017.
